INSTRUMENTS

vaudry

A robust stand in the imposing Louis XIII style, a light case of walnut, bridges "à l'italienne", these are characteristic features of the 17th century French style. My design is based on an instrument signed "Vaudry, 1681" conserved in the Victoria and Albert Museum, London. This instrument gives the kind of intimate, deep-shaded tones appropriate to the works of composers such as Louis Couperin, d'Anglebert, Chambonnières.

-1 keyboard: 2 x 8', buff stop
-2 keyboards: 2 x 8', 1 x 4', buff stop
-range: GG- d''' without GG# (54 notes)
-keys: bone and ebony
-transposition: A 415 - 440
